Your headache care, between appointments as well as during them.

The London Headache Centre now offers a digital clinic. You keep a short daily record of your symptoms and medication in the Headache App, and Dr Weatherall's team sees it in their clinical dashboard. Your consultations start from accurate data rather than memory.

Logging a headache attack in the Migrevention Headache App: attack timer, pain level 7 and medications
Dr Mark Weatherall
Accurate data is crucial for migraine diagnosis, and monitoring the effects of treatment. Having access to a patient’s contemporaneous daily record of their symptoms makes the job of the headache specialist so much easier. Proactive assessment allows timely changes to medication, and can improve long-term treatment outcomes.

What changes when your care is digital

Paper diaries get forgotten and patterns are hard to recall in a clinic room. The digital clinic gives you and your specialist the same clear picture of how your headaches are behaving.

A daily record, kept as it happens

A quick check-in each day, whether you had a headache or not. Log an attack in more detail when it happens: pain, symptoms, medication and what helped.

Your specialist sees the full picture

Your entries reach the London Headache Centre team securely. Before your consultation they can review headache days, attack patterns and medication use.

Treatment decisions at the right time

Your care team can follow how a new treatment is working between visits, so changes do not have to wait for the next appointment.

Your data stays yours

You choose to connect your account to the London Headache Centre, and you can withdraw that consent at any time in the app. Data is stored in line with UK GDPR.

How the digital pathway works

Do I have to use the app to be seen at the clinic?

No. The digital clinic is optional. It gives your specialist better information, but you can be seen at the London Headache Centre without it.

What do I record each day?

A short daily check-in: whether you had a headache, how it affected your day and whether you took medication. When you have an attack, you can log more detail such as pain intensity, symptoms and possible triggers.

Who can see my data?

Only you and the London Headache Centre care team you connect to. You give consent in the app and can withdraw it at any time. Migrevention processes the data on the clinic's behalf in line with UK GDPR.

Will someone watch my diary and contact me if something is wrong?

The app is not a monitoring or emergency service. Your care team reviews your record at planned points in your care. If you are worried about your symptoms, contact the clinic or your GP.

Is there a cost?

[To confirm with LHC]

What if I miss a day?

You can fill in missed days later in the app. A complete record is most useful, but a few gaps are fine.

The app is not for emergencies. If you have a sudden, severe headache unlike any before, headache with weakness, confusion, fever and neck stiffness, or after a head injury, call 999 or go to A&E.
